The No.
105 Junior Pump Gun
This was
Daisy’s second pump gun, but unlike the elbow-pump action of the No. 25,
this gun had what is sometimes called a trombone-pump action. It did not
have the mechanical advantage of the No. 25 and was, therefore, more difficult
to cock. As the pump handle was pulled rearward, it became more and more
difficult to pull. It could be a difficult gun for a little guy to cock.
The design of this gun came from Markham Air Rifle Co. Also
in Plymouth Michigan. Daisy bought out Markham including all of its
patents in 1931. This gun was Markham’s No. 5 Pump gun.
It would
shoot sixty shots without reloading, which was only a slight improvement over
the No 25. Unlike the force-fed No. 25, the Junior Pump Gun was a gravity feed air rifle.
Production of
this gun was in 1933 only and sales were probably limited to 1933 and
1934. Production ceased when Daisy added the No. 107 Buck Jones Special
to its inventory.
